PISCATAWAY, NJ - Senior Nikki Childress (Roanoke, VA) went 5-for-7 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored and senior Leah Black (Rocky River, OH) recorded a pair of victories as the Rutgers softball team (21-22; 5-7 BIG EAST) swept a doubleheader from Boston College (25-19; 5-7), 3-1 in game one and 9-3 in game two, on April 18.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Freshman Jessica Crosby (Sedro-Woolley, WA) pitched her second consecutive complete-game shutout as the Rutgers softball team (19-22; 3-7 BIG EAST) defeated Connecticut (17-17; 2-6 BIG EAST), 5-0, in game two of a doubleheader on April 17. UConn was victorious in game one 2-0.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - After handing BIG EAST leader Villanova its first conference loss of the season last weekend, the Rutgers softball team (18-21; 2-6 BIG EAST) returns to league play looking to climb up in the conference standings when it hosts Connecticut (16-16; 1-5 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 17, and Boston College (24-16; 4-4 BIG EAST) on Sunday, April 18. Both doubleheaders begin at noon.

April-10-04 RU Softball Hands Villanova Its First Conference Loss
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Senior Brielle Cosentino (Carlstadt, NJ) hurled a three-hit shutout in Rutgers’ 1-0 win over BIG EAST leader Villanova (16-13; 7-1 BIG EAST) on April 10 to spoil the Wildcats’ perfect conference record. In game one, Nova defeated the Scarlet Knights (17-20; 2-6 BIG EAST) 9-2.

April-07-04 RU Softball Snaps Hofstra's Home Win Streak
HEMPSTEAD, NY - The Rutgers softball team (16-19; 1-5 BIG EAST) dropped game one of a doubleheader with Hofstra (13-14), 9-2, before ending the Pride’s 20-game home winning steak with a 10-5 victory in the nightcap.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Rutgers softball team (15-18; 1-5 BIG EAST) split a doubleheader at Pittsburgh (14-20; 1-3 BIG EAST) today, April 4, taking game one, 2-1, on the strength of a strong pitching performance from senior Leah Black (Rocky River, OH) before dropping game two, 9-3.

April-02-04 Rutgers Softball Swept by Virginia Tech
BLACKSBURG, VA - The Rutgers softball team (14-17; 0-4 BIG EAST) dropped a pair of games to Virginia Tech (28-12; 4-2 BIG EAST) on April 2, falling 8-0 in game one and 9-1 in game two in the fourth doubleheader for the Scarlet Knights since last Sunday.

March-31-04 RU Softball Split Doubleheader With Columbia
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers managed to bang out 10 hits in game one of a double header with Columbia on March 31, but fell 7-4 to the Lions (13-14). The Scarlet Knights (14-15) rebounded in game two and took advantage of an excellent outing by senior Brielle Cosentino (Carlstadt, NJ) to register a 2-0 victory and earn a split with the Lions.
