January-18-07 Q and A With the Coach
Q: What made Rutgers an appealing position for your first collegiate head coaching job and what do you hope to accomplish here? A: I grew up in New Jersey and Rutgers always meant a lot to me as the State University of New Jersey and as a place to continue your education. Softball wise, the program has always been strong, it's just been recently that it hasn't been as successful, which I think was large in part due to injuries. One of the things I want to do here is to keep the top athletes in New Jersey in their home state and also draw from more local areas like New York and Pennsylvania. Right now, a lot of our top athletes are leaving the state so it's really a nationwide search to start building something here.
