May 3, 2009 Rutgers Softball Tops Syracuse In Final Game Of 2009 Season
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Rutgers softball team (23-33, 6-18 BIG EAST) closed out its 2009 season, winning the back end of a BIG EAST doubleheader with Syracuse (30-20, 12-10 BIG EAST) on Sunday, May 3, at the SU Softball Stadium. The Scarlet Knights defeated the Orange 4-2 in game two, but fell 3-2 in the opening game.

May 2, 2009 Rutgers Softball Splits With Pittsburgh In Conference Action
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Rutgers softball team (22-32, 5-17 BIG EAST) dropped game one to Pittsburgh (24-23, 8-14 BIG EAST) before bouncing back with a victory in game two, earning a BIG EAST split on Saturday, May 2, at Trees Field. The Scarlet Knights fell in the opener 3-0 and responded with a 6-5 win in the nightcap.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (21-31) had its 2009 home schedule come to an end on Thursday, April 30, against LIU. RU fell 4-2 to the Blackbirds at the RU Softball Complex.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Scarlet Knights will close out their homestand Thursday, April 30, against Long Island University. Rutgers hopes to avenge its loss to LIU during a pre-season pickup game in Tampa, Fla. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

April 26, 2009 Rutgers Softball Splits BIG EAST Doubleheader With Seton Hall
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (21-30, 4-16 BIG EAST) split its doubleheader with instate and BIG EAST rival Seton Hall (24-28-1, 10-14 BIG EAST) on Sunday, April 26. The Scarlet Knights won game one 9-1 in five innings, but fell in game two 3-2. Eight Scarlet Knights were honored in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.

April 23, 2009 Rutgers Softball Enjoys Solid Day At Plate, Sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (20-29) received several steady performances at the plate, en route to a sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday, April 23, at the RU Softball Complex. The Scarlet Knights combined for 15 runs in two games, including three home runs to defeat the Knights 4-3 in game one and 11-3 in game two.

April 22, 2009 Rutgers Softball Hosts Fairleigh Dickinson In Thursday Doubleheader
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Scarlet Knights will prepare to host Fairleigh Dickinson in a double header Thursday, April 23 at the Rutgers Softball Complex. Heading into the match-up, Rutgers is 18-29, 3-15 in BIG EAST play. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Marist on Tuesday.

April 21, 2009 Craig Hits Grand Slam To Power Softball Sweep Over Marist
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers sophomore Mandy Craig (Manassas, Va.) drove in five runs, with her team-leading third home run of the season on a grand slam in game two of the Scarlet Knights’ doubleheader sweep over Marist (14-30) on Tuesday, April 21. RU (18-29) defeated the Red Foxes 3-1 in game one and earned a five-inning 8-0 victory in the nightcap.

April 19, 2009 Rutgers Softball Falls To Notre Dame In BIG EAST Action
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (16-29, 3-15 BIG EAST) lost its BIG EAST doubleheader against Notre Dame (31-13, 13-3 BIG EAST) on Sunday, April 19, dropping game one 4-1 and game two 4-3.

April 18, 2009 Rutgers Softball Drops BIG EAST Doubleheader To No. 20 DePaul
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team (16-27, 3-13 BIG EAST) resumed conference play this weekend for a BIG EAST doubleheader against No. 20 DePaul (29-9, 13-2 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 18. The Blue Demons took game one 11-2 and game two 5-0.
