PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers women’s soccer 2003 recruiting class has been ranked 32nd nationally by Soccerbuzz, the group has announced.
This marks the third consecutive year, and the fourth time since Soccerbuzz started ranking recruiting classes in 1998, that a Scarlet Knight recruiting class has been rated among the nation’s top 50. In 1999, RU’s class was ranked 17th, while head coach Glenn Crooks’ classes were rated 25th in 2001 and 21st in 2002.
The 10-member incoming Rutgers recruiting class includes Lauren Acosta (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial), Nicole Aquila (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway), Tierney Brady (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial), Rachel Cordasco (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls), Christine Culbreth (Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills), Domenique Esposito (Rivervale, NJ/Pascack Valley), Robyn Jones (Titusville, NJ/The Pennington School), Jaime Komar (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney), Kim Mineo (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) and Meghan Ryan (Crofton, MD/St. Mary’s).
Rutgers finished the 2002 season with a 10-8-2 overall record and 4-1-1 mark in the BIG EAST’s Mid-Atlantic Division, advancing to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament. RU will begin the 2003 season on Aug. 29 when the Scarlet Knights host Providence at 7:00 p.m.
