Senior Christine Caldwell (Wyckoff, NJ) made three saves in the loss (3-2-1).
Even though RU was outshot 10-8, Notre Dame’s Erika Bohn was forced to make three more saves than Caldwell (6-3).
Rutgers was rated sixth by Soccerbuzz and eighth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in the Mid-Atlantic Region this week (Sept. 16). RU also received votes in the SoccerTimes.com national poll. Notre Dame was rated seventh by the NSCAA, ninth by both Soccertimes.com and Soccer America, and 12th by Soccerbuzz in the national polls. The Fighting Irish were rated the best team in the Great Lakes Region by the NSCAA and second in the region by Soccerbuzz.
Rutgers will finish the weekend by playing at Pittsburgh (3-4, 0-1 BIG EAST) Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1:00 p.m.
