  • PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women's soccer team (9-9-1, 4-5-1 BIG EAST) will play at No. 24 Connecticut (14-5, 8-2 BIG EAST) Sunday, Oct. 31, at 1:00 p.m. in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinals.

    Rutgers, with its 13 points, will be the seventh seed in the tournament, and Connecticut (24 points) will be the second seed. The Scarlet Knights were awaiting the result of the Oct. 27 make-up match between Georgetown and Pittsburgh, a 4-0 Hoya victory, to finalize the standings. No. 1 Notre Dame (9-0-1, 28) will host No. 8 St. John's (4-6, 12), No. 3 West Virginia (7-3, 21) will host No. 6 Villanova (5-4-1, 16), and No. 4 Boston College (7-3, 21) will host No. 5 Georgetown (5-4-1, 16). The other three quarterfinal matches also will be held Oct. 31 at 1:00 p.m. Connecticut will host the semifinals and final Nov. 5 and 7.

    In their most recent outing, Rutgers played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw at then No. 1 Notre Dame
    (15-0-1) Oct. 22. This marks RU's fifth consecutive BIG EAST Tournament berth, and the Scarlet Knights are in pursuit of a third NCAA Tournament bid in a four-year span.
