PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 5, 2014) – Rutgers women’s soccer rising senior Stef Scholz (South Hackensack, N.J.) was named to the W-League Team of the Week, announced Wednesday.
The RU forward, who plays for the North Jersey Valkyries, notched a hat trick in the 3-1 victory over the Long Island Rough Riders on Saturday, May 31. Scholz ranks third in the league with three goals and sixth with six points.
Fellow RU teammates Jen Andresen (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Brielle Buis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) are also members of the Valkyries. Andresen has tallied a goal and a pair of assists in two games, while Buis has seen 30 minutes of action in two games played. Scholz and Andresen are first and second, respectively, in points on the Valkyries.

The W-League is the first and longest-standing women’s soccer league in North America. The 2013 W-League campaign will feature 25 teams in three regional conferences playing 10-12 regular season matches.
