  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers junior Carli Lloyd (Delran, NJ) has been named to the Soccerbuzz All-America Third Team, the group has announced.

    Lloyd, a midfielder, led RU with 28 points (13 G, 2 A) this fall, earning third-team National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) All-America honors, first-team all-BIG EAST Conference accolades for the third consecutive year, and receiving a spot on both the NSCAA and Soccerbuzz Mid-Atlantic Region All-First Teams. As a sophomore, Lloyd was named to the Soccerbuzz All-America Second Team and the Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. In 2001, she was the group’s Mid-Atlantic Region Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the Freshman All-America Team.

    The Rutgers women’s soccer team (10-7-5, 3-2-1 BIG EAST) advanced to the second round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament and the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
