Piscataway, N.J. (Oct. 18, 2012) - The Rutgers women’s soccer team (11-6-1, 4-5-1) will play its final game of the regular season, traveling to rival Seton Hall (7-11, 2-8) on Friday, Oct. 19. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Rutgers wrapped up its home slate with a 5-0 victory on Senior Day against Cincinnati. The five goals posted by the Scarlet Knights marked the most since Sept. 22, 2008 (against Villanova, 5-0). The total of eight goals in back-to-back games marked the most since Sept. 29-Oct 1, 2006 when RU notched a 3-0 victory over Marquette and 5-0 victory over USF.

Senior Day proved to be a highlight amongst the five seniors. Senior midfielder Maura McLaughlin (Robbinsville, N.J.) scored her first career goal. Redshirt senior Tricia DiPaolo (Sparta, N.J.), tallied a goal and an assist, while senior forward April Price (Mechanicsville, Va.), racked up two assists of her own. Defensively, Shannon Woeller (Vancouver, Canada) and Emmy Simpkins (Concord, N.C.) aided in the RU shutout.

Junior forward Jonelle Filigno (Mississauga, ON, Canada) ranks fifth all-time at RU with 14 goals this season, just one away from a four-way tie for first place. Filigno ranks second in the NCAA with seven game winners this season, as well as seventh in total goals and 11th in total points.

RU holds an all-time series advantage of 10-7-1 over SHU. The two teams last met on October 21, 2011, a 2-2 draw at Yurcak Field.

Seton Hall enters the match coming off a 3-0 loss against Louisville. Junior midfielder Ashley Clarke leads the team with eight assists on the season, a mark that matches SHU’s single-season record. Redshirt senior Stephanie Soma paces the team with five goals. Time between the pipes has been split this season by Gina Maiorana and Alyssa Kelly. Maiorana owns a 2.26 GAA with 19 saves, while Kelley posts a 2.08 GAA with 44 saves.

Head coach Kazbek Tambi owns a 41-60-9 overall mark and a 15-45-5 record in his sixth season with the Pirates.
