CHICAGO, Ill. – Former Rutgers standout Carli Lloyd was selected as the US Soccer Female Athlete of the Year, the organization announced Friday. Lloyd scored the game-winning goal in Team USA’s 1-0 gold medal win over Brazil in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. FULL STORY
Q & A with KRISTIE LANG
RU junior forward Kristie Lang (East Brunswick, N.J.) has played in 16 games in 2008, with three starts. She has eight goals and two assists through her RU career, including one goal and one assist in 2008. Lang was a freshman in 2006, when Rutgers last earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament. That year the Scarlet Knights reached the second round before falling to Boston College in penalty kicks. Rutgers will play Penn State in the opening round of the tournament. The Nittany Lions defeated RU 1-0 in double-overtime on Sept. 5. FULL STORY
