PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior tri-captain Scott Conway (Aston, PA) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
Conway earned league accolades after recording 11 saves in two wins this week against Monmouth and Connecticut. He made nine stops against the Huskies for his first career shutout. Conway surrendered only one goal in more than 185 minutes of action last week. Through six games, Conway’s season goals-against-average is 1.39.
The senior’s performance last week also earned him the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week .
He is the younger brother of former Rutgers All-American Jon Conway who tended goal for the Scarlet Knights from 1996-1999. The elder Conway currently plays with the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS.
Rutgers is now 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the BIG EAST, heading into a conference match with Virginia Tech on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., in Blacksburg, VA.
