PISCATAWAY, NJ – Following victories over Monmouth and Connecticut last week, the Rutgers men’s soccer team has moved up in four national polls released on Monday. The Scarlet Knights are now 5-1 overall, including a 3-0 record in the BIG EAST.
For the second time in the past three weeks, Rutgers has entered the top-10 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, earning the No. 10 spot. Rutgers was ranked as high as No. 8 in the NSCAA poll on Sept. 8.
Rutgers is also ranked 13th in the latest Soccer America poll, while moving up to 12th in the new SoccerTimes.com rankings.
Monday marks the fourth consecutive week Rutgers has been ranked in both the NSCAA and SoccerTimes.com poll. It is the third straight week RU has been recognized by Soccer America.
Rutgers was also ranked in the latest College Soccer News poll as the 14th best team in the country. Senior Josh Gros (Mechanicsburg, PA) was recognized as the publication’s National Player of the Week. Monday marks the third straight week the Scarlet Knights have been ranked in the College Soccer News poll.
Rutgers will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 28, traveling to Blacksburg, VA, for a 2 p.m. match with Virginia Tech.
