PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior tri-captain Josh Gros (Mechanicsburg, PA) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 9.
The award is the second for Gros this week, also earning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors. The midfielder scored three goals and assisted on a fourth in this past Saturday’s 4-1 win over Providence in the home-opener at Yurcak Field.
He entered the week with a team-leading nine points (4g, 1a), scoring at least one goal in RU’s first two games.
Gros assisted on the Scarlet Knights’ lone goal against St. John’s last night in Rutgers’ 3-1 loss to the Red Storm. He now leads RU with 10 points on the season.
Rutgers will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.
