  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 27, 2014) – Senior Nate Bruccoleri (Bordentown, N.J.) and juniors JP Correa (Montville, N.J.), Drew Morgan (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ross Tetro (Freehold, N.J.) were named Rutgers men’s soccer captains for the 2014 season in a vote by their teammates.

The lone Scarlet Knight senior, Brucolleri was last season’s MVP. He appeared in all 20 games logging three points from a goal and assist. He notched a goal against Elon, for which he was a named to the Duke Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team, and had an assist in the American Athletic Conference play-in game vs. Cincinnati. Bruccoleri has started 52 of his 55 career appearances for the Scarlet Knights and totaled nine points in his career (3G, 3A).

Correa returned to the pitch after a redshirt season to start all 20 games and record three points in 2013. The Scarlet Knight posted a goal in the season finale at USF and recorded an assist in a 4-1 victory over Penn State, last season’s regular season Big Ten Champions. As a freshman, Correa was named to the All-BIG EAST Rookie Team and NSCAA All-Northeast Region Second Team selection after leading RU with six goals and five assists.

Last season’s George Dochat Sportsmanship Award winner, Tetro appeared in and started all 20 games in the backfield for the Scarlet Knights in 2013. He scored the game-winner against Penn State in RU’s 4-1 victory and helped the Scarlet Knights to five shutouts. Entering his third season “On The Banks,” Tetro has started every game of his career.

Morgan appeared in and started 17 games, helping the Scarlet Knights to five shutouts in 2013. He recorded three points from a goal and an assist against Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference play-in game. His goal against the Bearcats in the 5-1 victory was not only his first career goal, but also the game-winner.

The Scarlet Knights open the 2014 regular season on Friday, Aug. 29 against UMKC at 8 p.m. at Yurcak Field. The contest is the second game of a double header featuring the RU women's soccer team taking on Seton Hall at 5:30 p.m.  RU will also host Lafayette on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m.
