PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 11, 2013) – Freshman goalkeeper David Greczek (Fairfield, N.J.) was named to College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week after helping the Scarlet Knights advance to the semifinals of the 2013 American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Greczek posted 15 saves in both the play-in game and quarterfinal victories over the weekend. The rookie Scarlet Knight made nine stops, including a save on a penalty kick, in the upset of top-seeded and No. 7 Louisville on Saturday night for his fifth shutout of the season.
On the year, Greczek has made 96 total saves, averaging 5.1 per game. He holds a 1.20 goals against average and .807 save percentage.
The Rutgers men’s soccer team returns to action on Friday, Nov. 15 against USF in the semifinals of the AAC Tournament at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
