  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (September 16, 2013) – After helping the Rutgers men’s soccer squad to a 2-0 weekend with a trio of goals and a pair of assists, sophomore midfielder Mael Corboz (Green Brook, N.J.) was named to College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15.

Corboz found the back of the net twice in RU’s 3-2 win over in-state rival Princeton on Friday night.  It was the second straight year Corboz has scored twice against the Tigers.  He followed with the game-winning goal and assists on the other two Scarlet Knight tallies in the 3-0 shutout of South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

On the season, Corboz has a team-leading five goals, two assists and 12 points.  The Scarlet Knight currently leads the American Athletic Conference (AAC) in points and ranks second in goals.

The Rutgers men’s soccer team (3-2-1) opens up conference action and closes out its five game homestand on Friday at 8 p.m. against SMU.
