DURHAM, N.C. (September 1, 2013) – Midfielders junior Nathan Bruccoleri (Bordentown, N.J.) and sophomore Mael Corboz (Green Brook, N.J.) were both named to the Duke Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team.
Bruccoleri scored RU’s lone goal in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to two-time SoCon champions, Elon. The junior midfielder got Rutgers onto the scoreboard in the game’s 34th minute taking a feed from senior forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) off a rebound. It was Bruccoleri’s first goal of the season and fourth of his career.
Corboz, meanwhile, accounted for seven of Rutgers’ 20 shots against Elon and Duke. He currently leads the Scarlet Knights in the category.
The Rutgers men’s soccer team went 0-1-1 at the Duke Soccer Classic. The Scarlet Knights tied Duke 1-1 on Friday night before falling to Elon, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.
The Scarlet Knight return home to Yurcak Field for five straight games starting with the 2013 home opener against Penn State on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. Schedule posters will be available to fans in attendance. The Scarlet Knights also host Akron on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1:00 p.m.
