PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 3, 2013) – Catch up with former Scarlet Knights Nick LaBrocca, Dilly Duka and Peter Vermes and their 2013 MLS seasons.

Nick LaBrocca – Colorado Rapids – LaBrocca has started in seven of his 11 appearances with the Rapids, including starts against Montreal and Portland in the final two games of June.  He played 62 minutes in the 3-0 loss to Portland on June 23rd.  Against the Timbers, LaBrocca had the Rapids best chance at thwarting the shutout with a shot on net in the game’s 58th minute.  Teammate Deshorn Brown beat a Portland defender to the corner of the pitch to send a cross to the former Scarlet Knight.  Unfortunately, LaBrocca’s shot on an open net was cleared by a Timber defender.   LaBrocca also played 74 minutes in Colorado’s 4-3 victory over Montreal on June 29th.  The victory over the Eastern Conference leading Impact snapped a four-game winless streak for the Rapids.

Colorado currently stands at 6-7-5 overall having gone1-3-1 in the month of June.  The Rapids sit in sixth place in the Western Conference and are just one point out of playoff contention.  Colorado will be at home in three of their five July match-ups and also travel to the University of New Mexico for a friendly with Santos Laguna from Mexico.

Chicago currently stands at 5-7-2 overall and went 4-1-1 in the month of June.   The Fire’s match-up with Sporting KC, featuring manager and former Scarlet Knight Peter Vermes, on July 7th will air on ESPN at 3:00 p.m. EST.  Additionally, Chicago will take on Club America of Mexico in a friendly on ESPN2 on July 10th at 8:30 p.m.
