PISCATWAY, N.J. (November 30, 2012) –  Midfield Mael Corboz (Green Brook, N.J.) was named Second Team All-Freshman by College Soccer News it was announced Friday.

Corboz, a Second Team All-BIG EAST and All-BIG EAST Rookie honoree, started all 14 contests for the Scarlet Knights and was the second leading RU scorer with three goals and a team-leading seven assists.

The freshman Scarlet Knights’ seven assists in 2012 were the most by a Scarlet Knight in a season since 2001. His seven assists also placed him in a tie for 17^th all-time in the single season record books. Additionally, Carboz’s four game-winners on the year put his name in a tie for seventh all-time in the record books.

Corboz tied for sixth in the BIG EAST in assists (7).  He was second in assists per game and ranked 22^nd nationall averaging .47 per contest. Corboz was honored by the league with BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honorees after notching two goals in the Scarlet Knights’ 2-0 win over Princeton.
