  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (September 6, 2012) – Rutgers men’s soccer (1-2-0) returns to action Saturday, when the Scarlet Knights look to snap their two-match losing streak against intrastate foe Princeton (1-1-0).

Both squads will take the pitch fresh off losses to ranked opponents, as RU dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 3 Creighton its last time out and the Tigers fell, 3-0, on Wednesday night to No. 15 St. John’s.

The Scarlet Knights aim to notch their first goal since opening the season with a 1-0 home win against Fordham. Freshman Mitchell Taintor (Storrs, Conn.) owns the lone score for RU in the early going, as the squad dropped consecutive matches to SIU Edwardsville (1-0) and Creighton following the home victory.

Princeton opened the season with a 2-1 win against another N.J. rival, Seton Hall, on August 31 in South Orange, N.J. The Tigers took an early 1-0 lead just 7:28 into the game and scored the game-winner off the foot of sophomore Julian Griggs in the 50th minute.

For fans attending the game, please be advised that there are possible traffic concerns as students move to their on-campus residences. Spectators for the soccer match are asked to park in Lot 21, 4, 5 or 25. They should also use Striecker Bridge to access Roberts Stadium as Elm Drive will be restricted to move in vehicles only. There will be signs to direct soccer fans to parking locations. Please plan accordingly. CAMPUS MAP
