SAAC

The SAAC is a student-led group that acts as a liaison between student-athletes and the athletic administration to advance the interests and pool the resources of all athletic programs at Rutgers University.

Membership is limited to all student-athletes who have been varsity athletes for at least one year. Before the end of the spring semester each Rutgers University varsity sport shall choose two athletes to represent its team as members of the SAAC. In addition to maintaining the lines of communication, SAAC’s responsibilities are to Voice concerns, address university issues, promote inter-team unity and support, foster community awareness of Rutgers athletics, and devise community service projects for athletes. Another goal is to improve services available to and affecting student-athletes.

WHO IS THE SAAC?
The SAAC is a committee made up of student-athletes from all 30 intercollegiate athletic teams at Rutgers University. They are assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and to offer input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives on the Rutgers campus.
Any student-athlete who has been a member of an intercollegiate squad for one year can be a SAAC member. At the end of each academic year each team selects two student-athletes athletes to serve as SAAC representatives for the following year. Generally, teams are encouraged to consider student-athletes in different graduating classes as their representatives. Teams should also consider ethnic diversity in choosing their representatives.
