RU Lightweight Freshmen Eight Finish Fourth at EARC Sprints

  • WORCESTER, MA - The Rutgers lightweight freshmen eight finished fourth to lead the Scarlet Knight boats at the EARC Sprints May 11 on Lake Quinsigamond.

    The RU freshmen eight finished fourth in the Grand Final with a time of 6:43.81. The Scarlet Knights were second in their heat with a time of 6:11.24 to qualify for the Grand Final.

    The RU varsity eight placed fourth (6:50.5) in the Petite Final after placing fifth (6:15.33) in the first trial heat. Rutgers is ranked ninth in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Men’s Lightweight Eights Poll (May 7).

    The Scarlet Knights will finish their season at the IRA Championships May 29-31 on the Cooper River.
