PRINCETON, NJ – The Rutgers women’s crew finished third in the varsity eight race May 3 on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, NJ.
The Tigers (6:53.1) won the varsity eight, ahead of Oregon State (7:09.83), Rutgers (7:13.8) and George Washington (7:22.83). Princeton is ranked sixth and Oregon State is 14th in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Women’s Varsity Eights Poll (April 30).
RU finished second (7:28.93) to Princeton (7:09.3) in the second varsity event. The Scarlet Knights finished third in the first (7:46.38) and second (8:29.52) novice races. In the third varsity four, Rutgers placed fourth (8:43.04).
The Scarlet Knights will next be in action Sunday, May 18, at the EAWRC Championships on the Cooper River.
