ITHACA, NY – The Rutgers lightweight crew finished second of three teams to determine the Platt Cup April 12 on Lake Cayuga.
Princeton won the varsity eight with a time of 6:31.9, followed by Rutgers (6:41.2) and Cornell (6:43.1). In the freshmen eight, the Tigers were first (6:27.0), the Big Red were second (6:32.9) and the Scarlet Knights were third (6:40.2). In the second freshmen, Cornell’s first two boats (6:39.4 and 6:42.7) were ahead of Rutgers (6:52.4).
The Scarlet Knights will next be in action Saturday, April 19, when Rutgers hosts Yale and Dartmouth in a competition for the Durand Cup on the Raritan River.
