  • p>PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers heavyweight crew lost by a boatlength to Princeton in the varsity race to decide the Logg Cup April 5 on the Raritan River.

    Princeton (6:11.3), ranked seventh in the USRowing Preseason Collegiate Men’s Varsity Eight Poll, defeated 20th-ranked Rutgers (6:15.1) in the varsity eight race to win the Logg Cup.

    In the second varsity race, Princeton’s first (6:18.4) and second (6:24.7) eights defeated the Scarlet Knights (6:29.6).

    The Tigers made it a sweep, winning the freshmen (6:13.4) and second freshmen (6:48.2) races.

    The Scarlet Knights will next be in action Saturday, April 12, when RU travels to Syracuse to take on the Orangemen on Lake Onondoga.
