Scarlet Knights Defeat Columbia in Varsity Eight Race

  • NEW YORK, NY – The Rutgers lightweight crew won the Wit Cup with a victory against Columbia April 9 on the Harlem River.

    Rutgers (6:01.81) defeated Columbia (6:04.39) to win the Wit Cup in the head-to-head series. Navy won the varsity eight race with a time of 5:57.36. The Scarlet Knights registered a second-place finish in the second varsity eight (6:12.79), and were third in the freshman eight (6:28.04) and second freshman eight (6:24.33).

    Rutgers will be back in action April 16 when the Scarlet Knights take on Cornell and Princeton on Lake Cayuga in New York.
