Heavyweights, Women Compete at Princeton

  • PRINCETON, NJ – The Rutgers women’s and heavyweight men’s crews competed on Lake Carnegie April 2 in Princeton. The races, originally scheduled for the Raritan River in New Brunswick, were moved due to weather conditions.

    In the race for the Logg Cup, the heavyweight varsity eight (5:52.4) fell to Princeton (5:40.6). The Scarlet Knights won the second freshman eight race against the Tigers (6:13.4), and fell in the second varsity eight (6:03.4) and freshman eight (6:04.8) races.

    The Rutgers women finished third (6:47.4) in the varsity eight race to Princeton (6:19.6) and Columbia (6:37.5). RU placed second in the second varsity eight (6:54.8), varsity four (7:36.8) and second varsity four
    (7:44.8) races, and third in the novice eight (7:01.7).

    The Rutgers heavyweights will return to action Saturday, April 9, at Syracuse. The women will compete next April 9 in Columbus, OH, against Ohio State, Brown, Michigan and Michigan State.
