In accordance with one of rowing’s most cherished and long-standing traditions, new shells are dedicated in honor of those who have served the University with pride and distinction. Gary Castaline was one such person.
As the Associate Athletic Director for Operations, Castaline oversaw a facilities and operations staff of 27 people and worked with countless others who were responsible for the maintenance and operation of every Rutgers athletic facility and event. Castaline previously served as a Senior Assistant Athletic Director for six years and as the Rutgers Ticket Manager for 11 years. He was a tireless, loyal and dedicated member of the Rutgers family.
He was survived by his wife Michele and daughter Suzanne. The Brookline, Mass. native was a loving son to his parents Betty and Paul and a caring sibling to his brother Alan. Gary's all too brief time with us represented a lifetime of devotion to his family, first and foremost, as well as to his family here at Rutgers.
Although no longer with us in body, Gary remains with us in spirit.
