  • NEW BRUNSWICK – The Rutgers men’s lightweight varsity eight fell to Navy and finished tied for second place in the Wit Cup on Saturday, April 10, on the Raritan River.

    The lightweight varsity team finished tied with Columbia with the time of 5:56.4, behind Navy’s 5:49.6.

    “There was a tie for second in the Varsity event,” said Rutgers lightweight coach Paul Hammond. “There was some chop in first 600M, but generally good conditions.”

    Rutgers’ second varsity eight (6:05.6) beat Navy (6:08.2) and Columbia (6:17.3), while the Rutgers freshman four boat (7:21.9) placed second to Navy (7:17.4) in the last race of the day.
