  • NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – For the second consecutive day, the No. 17 Rutgers men’s heavyweight varsity eight team registered a victory, defeating Georgetown in its first home race of the year on March 28.

The varsity team of Christopher Graves (Northfield, NJ), Todd Gentry (Sicklerville, NJ), Nathan Carter (Springfield, VA), Collin Jesberger (Chalfont, PA), Michael Dori (West Windsor, NJ), Fred Bidrawn (Mt. Holly, NJ), Samuel Stitt (McLean, VA), James Green (Erdenheim, PA) and Ned Delguercio (Media, PA) finished in 6:20.7 to defeat the Hoyas (6:31.7).

“The team rowed very well today in very rough conditions,” Rutgers heavyweight head coach Steve Wagner said. “Despite the winds and choppy waters, they rowed a very good race.

The Rutgers’ second varsity team (6:43.7) was also victorious over Georgetown (7:01.0), while the Hoyas’ third varsity team (7:20.8) defeated the Scarlet Knights’ third varsity (7:27.2).

The heavyweight team will race No. 3 Princeton for the Logg Cup on Saturday, April 3, on Lake Carnegie.
