PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 17, 2014) – In celebration of its upcoming 40th year “On the Banks” in 2014-15, the Rutgers women’s rowing team invites alumni, family and friends to attend a special weekend with the program from Sept. 26-27.

Those interested in attending can register HERE.

The full schedule of events is listed below, as all are encouraged to attend as many, or as few, events as possible. The program strongly suggests that those who register prioritize the banquet, scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Highlighting the event will be Carie Graves as the keynote speaker, and the christening of the new varsity eight as the Ethel Taub.

Carie Graves rowed for the University of Wisconsin and was a two time Olympic Medalist in both the 1976 and 1984 Olympics, winning a bronze and gold consecutively. In 1975 Graves was part of the "Red Rose Crew” that took a silver medal at the World Championships, coached by the legendary rowing coach Harry Parker. Graves later became the head coach at Northeastern before moving onto the University of Texas at Austin.

Ethel Taub was a generous supporter of the Rutgers Women's Rowing program and donated the first two boats to the women's program. Taub was the first woman to be accepted as a student into the Rutgers University business studies program. Later, she not only received the Outstanding Alumnus Award, but she also served on the Board of Trustees for Rutgers University.

The deadline to register for the event is Monday, Sept. 15.
