The Rutgers rowing team heads to Syracuse, N.Y. Saturday, March 31 for a quad meet with host Syracuse, Cornell and Boston University. Beginning at 9 a.m., the regatta will take place at the James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse.
RU is coming off a strong showing at the Murphy Cup Regatta, where the varsity eight overcame strong gusts to rank second overall with a time of 7:46.59. Racing in the 1V were: Ellie Kleiman (cox), Stephanie Ford (stroke), Raelyn Loiselle (7), Kat Geithman (6), Laura Ford (5), Kathleen Lai (4), Katie Bakaj (3), Veronica Leach (2), Jenelle Scheffler (bow).
The Orange opened their spring at Clemson, as the varsity eight finished third of seven teams behind Clemson and Indiana’s dead heat first-place finish.
Cornell will open its season at the meet. The Big Red varsity eight will be led by coxswain Judy Amsalem.
Boston University finished third overall at the Beanpot Regatta on the Charles River Saturday. The Terriers’ varsity eight will be coxed by Kayla Rivers and stroked by Cheryl Copson.
