  • Philadelphia, Pa. (Aug. 9, 2011) – Rutgers coxswain Ellie Kleiman (Wyoming, Ohio) trained with the Vesper Under 23 USRowing Development Camp in Philadelphia over the summer.

Over the weekend at the 129th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, the 2012 graduate led her eight to gold medals in the Under 23 W’s Eight and Women’s Eight dash. Kleiman also guided her squad to a silver medal in the women’s champ eight.

Kleiman also coxed the Vesper women’s eight to a gold medal in the Senior W’s Eight at the USRowing Club Nationals on July 16, beating the USRowing Pre-Elite Team.

USRowing Under 23 camps are part of the National Team development and feeder system.

Kleiman - a linguistics major, with a minor in psychology – started her coxing career with the Cincinnati Juniors Rowing Club.
