2017-18 (As a sophomore): 2018 national finalist at 125 pounds, producing a 4-1 mark en route to a second-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships (March 15-17) ... highest finisher and first national finalist in program history ... collected wins over the No. 1, 12 and 13 seeds en route to All-America status ... placed sixth after going 1-0 and then defaulting out of the Big Ten Championships (March 3-4) ... won 4-1 over No. 10 Sebastian Rivera of Northwestern (Feb. 2) ... produced a third-period pin on Devin Schnupp during dual against Penn State (Jan. 28) ... collected a 14-4 major decision over Mitchell Maginnis during dual at No. 18 Nebraska (Jan. 21) ... produced a 19-3 tech fall over Jacob Martin during dual win against Hofstra (Jan. 19) ... earned a 12-3 major decision over James Szymanski during dual against No. 24 North Carolina (Jan. 12) ... produced a  24-9 major decision against Ohio State (Jan. 7) ... produced Rutgers’ first individual champion in program history after he finished 5-0, including victories over three ranked opponents, at the 55th Annual Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) ... picked up a 24-5 tech fall over Justin Stickley during home dual against No. 7 Iowa (Dec. 8) ... earned a 19-5 major decision over Lock Haven’s Josiah Kline (Dec. 1) ... 125-pound champion at Black Knight Invitational in West Point, N.Y. 2016-17 (As a freshman): Finished 16-3 as a true freshman for Penn State in 2016-17, which included a 12-2 mark in dual action and an 8-1 record in Big Ten duals … seeded third at the 2017 NCAA Championships in St. Louis at 125 pounds, but was unable to compete in the tournament due to injury … two of Suriano’s losses were the result of injury, while his other defeat came against Iowa’s Thomas Gilman, who was the 2017 Big Ten champion and NCAA runner-up in his weight class.

Prior to college: Produced one of the greatest high school careers in Garden State history, earning four NJSIAA State Championships at Bergen Catholic … finished his scholastic career a perfect 159-0 … just the fourth four-time New Jersey state champion all-time … only wrestler in state history to match his four individual titles with four team championships.
