Amanda Craig – Senior – Softball
Currently in her senior season Amanda has already been elected Big East Player of the Week twice, most recently coming the week of April 19th where she batted an impressive .583 with 7 RBI’s and posted a slugging percentage that would make Albert Pujols look amateurish with a .917 mark. Amanda is having the best year of her collegiate career batting .351 with 31 RBI’s 22 runs and 5 HR. With a 3.507 cumulative GPA in Biotechnology (Animal Sciences) there is no doubt that Amanda will be destine for greatness after her playing days are over. Not only has Amanda applied her excellent work ethic and commitment to her studies and sport, she also has taken time to excel professionally and personally. Amanda has been involved in a Biotechnology Research program over the summer, worked as a lab assistant in the Plant Pathology department at Rutgers, serves as the softball team student-athlete liaison for SAAC and has attended various Rutgers Athletics Week of Service events to help serve the community.
Michael Lang – Senior – Baseball
Majoring in Communication with a double minor in Labor Studies and Sociology, Michael Lang has built-up an impressive resume academically and athletically during his 4 year career at Rutgers. Named to the All-Rookie Team as a Freshman, 1st Team All-State for Colleges in NJ as a sophomore and junior, consecutive Weekly Honor Roll recognition, Team MVP and voted by his peers as team captain this year, Michael has continued to channel that success with an excellent senior season campaign thus far, with a .326 batting average 29 runs, 9 RBI’s, 8 doubles and 4 triples to lead the Scarletknights. Not only has Michael led his team on the field but he also makes it a priority to get involve with the community by visiting children in the hospital, senior citizens at local centers, soup kitchens to help serve meals, help build homes for families in need and work closely with AIA(Athletes in Action) and Urban Impact to help mentor and guide youth onto the right track.
