INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that former Rutgers All-American Eric Foster (Homestead, Fla.) has signed a free agent contract with the organization. Foster, a two-time All-America selection for Rutgers as a junior and senior, is the 15th former Scarlet Knight to be on a current NFL roster.
He is the third member of the class of 2007 to earn a spot in the NFL, joining Ray Rice (Second round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2008 NFL Draft) and Jeremy Zuttah (Third round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2008 NFL Draft).
Foster, a Second Team All-America selection by The Sporting News registered 64 tackles and led RU with 15 tackles for loss in 2007. The All-BIG EAST First Team selection finished second on the squad with seven sacks, including two in the 52-30 International Bowl victory vs. Ball State.
For his career, Foster totaled 88 tackles, 15 sacks and 33.5 tackles for loss in 40 career games.
