DALLAS, Texas – Senior center Darnell Stapleton (Union, N.J.) has been named one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy, an award given annually to the nation's top center. Stapleton is the second Scarlet Knight this season to be named a finalist for one of college football premier postseason awards, joining sophomore tailback Ray Rice (Maxwell Award Finalist).

Joining Stapleton as finalists were Mark Bihl (University of Michigan), Doug Datish (Ohio State University), Ryan Kalil (University of Southern California), Jonathan Luigs (University of Arkansas) and Dan Mozes (West Virginia University).

Stapleton is part of a RU offensive line that has paved the way for one of the nation's top rushing attacks. In addition, the RU offensive front has allowed just eight sacks in 2006, which ties for the fewest total in the nation.

Stapleton has been a two-year starter for the Scarlet Knights since transferring from Hudson Valley CC.
