PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 6, 2014) – Commissioner Mike Aresco announced Wednesday that 197 Rutgers University student-athletes have been selected to the 2013-14 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
The Rutgers rowing team led all University athletic teams with 31 honorees. Other teams with student-athletes awarded included: women’s soccer (20), swimming and diving (18), baseball (16), men’s track and field (16), women’s track and field (14), volleyball (14), softball (13), men’s soccer (12), men’s cross country (nine), men’s golf (nine), women’s cross country (eight), tennis (seven), women’s golf (six) and women’s basketball (four).

Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the American Athletic Conference’s member institutions and are reviewed and approved by the American Athletic Conference Academic Affairs Committee.
To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
