On Friday, June 6th, the 32nd Annual Rutgers Athletics Golf Outing presented by Michael Graves & Associates was held at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway. The annual outing serves as an opportunity for friends and supporters of Rutgers Athletics to meet student-athletes, coaches and administrators, as well as share the fairways with their fellow Rutgers supporters.
More than 200 golfers hit the tees during the outing, which consisted of both a morning and an afternoon shotgun. They participated in numerous contests throughout the day including the Putting Contest, the Longest Drive Contest presented by By The Book, the Closest to the Pin Contest presented by Michael Graves and Associates, and the “Challenge the Coach” Contest, in which golfers tested their skills against two of Rutgers finest, Head Men’s Golf Coach Rob Shutte and Women’s Golfer Jackie Mullens. Golfers also had the opportunity to win brand new cars as both the New Jersey Audi Dealers and Kemper Kia of Bridgewater, NJ sponsored Hole-in-One contests on the course.
The AM shotgun was won by Jimmy Feister, Brian Tarulli, Michael Tarulli, and Neil Usternahrer, while Mike Furst, Gary Federico, Jon Rief, and Chris Lorah won the PM shotgun.
Sodexo catered the event with terrific spreads for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The participants were also treated to a complimentary ice cream bar, donated by Thomas Sweet Ice Cream and Chocolate.
Over $25,000 in proceeds raised by the event will support Rutgers Athletics and aid in the funding of student-athlete scholarships, facility improvements, and other athletic department priorities.
