R Big Tour Hoboken Tour Stop Set for Thursday

  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 18, 2014) – The Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics “R Big Tour,” an initiative featuring head coaches and officials that will travel the region to celebrate Rutgers’ entrance into the Big Ten Conference, will visit Hoboken tomorrow evening. 

    “R Big Tour” will make a total of 145 appearances in the coming months, commemorating the 145thyear of Scarlet Knight football and including six premier stops.

    The next visit on the premier stops on “R Big Tour” will be in Hoboken, N.J. at Cadillac Cantina. Media availability with the tour stop’s attendees will take place from 5:45-6:15 p.m. Please contact Jason Baum if you plan to attend.

    The premier stops will feature an informal, meet-and-greet format where guests will hear from head football coach Kyle Flood, head men’s basketball coach Eddie Jordan, head women’s basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer, director of intercollegiate athletics Julie Hermann andmany Olympic sport head coaches.

    Rutgers officially becomes a member of the Big Ten Conference on July 1. The Big Ten is an association of world-class universities whose member institutions share a common mission of research, graduate, professional and undergraduate teaching and public service. Founded in 1896, the Big Ten has sustained a comprehensive set of shared practices and policies that enforce the priority of academics in student-athletes' lives and emphasize the values of integrity, fairness and competitiveness.
