Story by Tom Luicci
Use it to voice complaints, concerns, criticisms – even an occasional compliment. The goal is to give you access to someone in the athletic department who can provide an insider’s perspective and answers to questions you may have. I can’t promise answers to every question, but I will do my best to address as many as I can.
During pre-season football practice, I will take on the role of “beat” reporter for scarletknights.com, posting daily practice reports and player features. If you want Rutgers football news, this will be the site to go to. We hope to complement that daily coverage with additional video interviews and question and answer sessions with players (and, possibly, coaches). I intend to hold regular Q&A sessions with Rutgers football fans as well once pre-season practice gets underway.
With our unique insider’s access we will also “break” stories about Rutgers athletics.
Fan engagement is the goal, and that will include interaction with Athletic Director Julie Hermann. I will do occasional Q&A sessions with her as a way to provide updates on what is happening with the athletic department. Fans will also be encouraged to submit questions to her through me.
The hope is that if you’re a Rutgers fan that scarletknights.com will be your go-to site for Scarlet Knights athletics more than ever before.

NOTE FROM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR JULIE HERMANN: "I've wanted to do this since I first met Tom, and it’s finally here: The chance to have a nationally-renowned writer report on YOUR athletic department from the inside out.
“It is our goal to be transparent. It is our goal to get information to those who love Rutgers and it is our goal to become a Big Ten force. With that in mind, please join us on the site for up-to-date information. When it's too early to inform we will wait; we won't report something half-baked. But when we do report you will find it here."
