  • BRONX, N.Y. (October 11, 2013) --  The Rutgers women’s cross country team placed third at the 2013 Metropolitan Cross Country Championships on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park, paced by two top ten times coming from sophomore Paige Senatore (Delsea, N.J.) and junior Allison Payenski (Whitehouse Station, N.J.).

Columbia took first on the 6K course with 25 points followed by NYU in second with 64 points and the Scarlet Knights in third with 78 points.

"The ladies really ran well today and we posted four personal bests,” said head coach James Robinson. “Coming off less than a week rest and on their first 6K course of the season, they delivered really good results and times. We've reached the championship portion of our season and we'll set our sights on competing at the inaugural American Cross Country Championships next."

Senatore, who led the Scarlet Knight contingent at the Paul Short and Monmouth Invitational, as well as the Fordham Fiasco, continued her impressive fall with a sixth place time of 18:41.12.
