NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (January 28, 2013) – Former Rutgers women’s soccer standout and two-time gold medalist Carli Lloyd will be inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni on May 4, 2013.

The Delran, N.J., native joins 2013 inductees Mark Angelson, Randal Pinkett, Joseph Rigby and Judith Viorst.

Lloyd scored the game-winning goals for the U.S. Olympic team in both the 2008 and 2012 gold medal games. In the most recent Olympics in London,  the former RU All-American started the final five contests for USA. The midfielder scored four goals throughout the Games, including the game-winning tallies versus Japan and France.

Lloyd ranks No. 1 all-time at Rutgers in career points (117), goals (50), game winners (15) and shots (295). The 2004 BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year also holds the record for points (37), goals (15) and game winners (six) in a single season.
