PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 28, 2012) - Rutgers University Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will hold its annual Toy and Book Drive at five RU Athletics events this winter.

Collections will be taken at the following events:
-Thursday, Nov. 29: Football vs. Louisville, 7:30 p.m.
-Thursday, Dec. 6: Women's Basketball vs. Long Island, 7:30 p.m.
-Saturday, Dec. 8: Wrestling vs. Rider/Princeton, 5 p.m.
-Tuesday, Dec. 11: Men's Basketball vs. George Washington, 7:30 p.m.
-Wednesday, Dec. 12: Women's Basketball vs. Southern, 7:30 p.m.

Student-athletes will be on hand prior to the start each game to collect new, unwrapped toys and books (valued at $5-$10) appropriate for children ages 3-5.

All proceeds benefit local Head Start programs.

The Toy and Book Drive is one of several community service initiatives organized by SAAC. The SAAC has conducted the annual Toy and Book Drive for more than 15 years.
