PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 9, 2012) – Chi Alpha Sigma, a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student-athletes who earn a varsity letter while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA through their junior and senior seasons, will induct 30 Scarlet Knights into the National College Athlete Honor Society on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The awards ceremony will take place at halftime of the Rutgers-Syracuse football game. Fifteen (15) RU squads – including baseball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, gymnastics, women’s lacrosse, rowing, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s track, softball, swimming and volleyball – will have at least one student-athlete recognized.

Chi Alpha Sigma encourages and rewards high academic scholarship of college athletes at four-year accredited colleges and universities. The organization recognizes outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate varsity letterwinners.
