Cheer on the Rutgers athletes who are competing in the 2012 London Olympics! In women's soccer, Carli Lloyd '06 is competing for Team USA, and current Rutgers student Jonelle Filigno and former assistant coach Karina LeBlanc are with Team Canada. In women's track and field, Julie Culley '04 is competing for Team USA in the 5,000 Meter event. Four-time U.S. trampoline champion Steven Gluckstein, a business management major, is looking for gold in London. In rowing Tom Terhaar '91 is again coaching the U.S. women's eight. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Terhaar coached the women's eight to a gold medal.

Wednesday, July 25
USA (Carli Lloyd RC'06) vs. FRA
Result: USA wins 4-2
Lloyd came off the bench in the 17th minute to score the game-winning goal in the 4-2 win over France.

Wednesday, July 25
CAN (Jonelle Filigno and Karina LeBlanc) vs. JPN
Result: JPN wins 2-1
Filigno Did not see action

Saturday, July 28
CAN vs. RSA
Result: CAN wins 3-0
Filigno entered the match in the 74th minute, tallying a shot on goal.

Saturday, July 28
USA vs. COL
Result: USA wins 3-0
Back in the starting lineup, Lloyd scored her second goal in as many games as she capped a 3-0 win over Colombia. The victory assured the Americans a berth in the quarterfinals.

Tuesday, July 31
CAN vs. SWE
Result: Draw 2-2
Filigno earned the start and played 75 minutes as Canada advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-2 draw.

Tuesday, July 31
USA vs. PRK
Result: USA wins 1-0
Lloyd started, playing the entire match in a 1-0 win over North Korea.

Friday, August 3
USA vs. NZL
Result: USA wins 2-0
Lloyd started and played the full 90 minutes in USA’s 2-0 win over New Zealand. Lloyd and USA advance to the semifinals against Canada.

CAN vs. GBR
Result: CAN wins 2-0

Filigno earned her first start of the 2012 Olympics vs. Great Britain and did not waste any time, putting Canada up 1-0 in the 12th minute. Canada won 2-0 and advances to play USA in the semifinals.

Monday, August 6
USA vs. CAN
Result: USA Wins 4-3
Lloyd – Lloyd played the full 123 minutes for the U.S., earning the start for the fourth-straight match.
Filigno – Filigno earned the nod for Team Canada, playing 67 minutes.

Thursday, August 9
CAN vs. FRA

Bronze game: Canada 1 France 0
Filigno started for the third-straight match, seeing 55 minutes of action, as Team Canada won the bronze medal.

USA vs. JPN
Gold Medal Match: USA 2 Japan 1
Carli Lloyd scores both goals for the gold medalists.

Round 1 (Julie Culley RC'04, RBS'04)
Culley, the U.S. Champion in the 5,000 at Olympic Trials, ran a personal-best time of 15:05.38 to place fifth out of 18 competitors in the qualifier.
