August-23-04 Seven Rutgers Soccer Matches To Be Televised This Fall
PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers men’s and women’s soccer teams will have a total of seven matches televised this fall, the Rutgers Athletics Department announced on Monday, Aug. 23. The Scarlet Knight men will have three matches televised on Patriot Media and CN8, while Patriot Media will air four selected women’s matches.

ATHENS, GREECE – Rutgers women’s basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer and the 2004 U.S. Women’s Basketball Olympic Team defeated China 100-62 Aug. 22, finishing preliminary play with a perfect 5-0 record. Stringer is serving as an assistant coach for the two-time defending gold medalist U.S. team.

ATHENS, GREECE – Rutgers women’s basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer and the 2004 U.S. Women’s Basketball Olympic Team defeated Spain 71-58 Aug. 20, securing Group B’s top seed for the upcoming medal quarterfinals. Stringer is serving as an assistant coach for the two-time defending gold medalist U.S. team.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers men’s soccer senior forward Chris Karcz (Clifton, NJ) suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during offseason workouts early in the summer that could possibly leave him sidelined for the 2004 season.

August-19-04 Orioles Promote Majewski for Friday Night MLB Debut
BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore Orioles have promoted former Rutgers standout Val Majewski (Freehold, NJ) from its Class AA affiliate, the Bowie Baysox, and will have the 23-year-old outfielder in uniform on Friday night, when they host the Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards.
