September-26-04 Women's Volleyball Wins Patriot Invitational
FAIRFAX, VA – The Rutgers volleyball team (9-3) defeated Towson (27-30, 30-28, 30-25, 23-30, 15-9) and George Mason (30-26, 30-27, 30-28) to win the Patriot Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25. This marked the second consecutive tournament win for the Scarlet Knights this season.

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rutgers women’s cross country team competed in the 31st annual Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Saturday, Sept. 25. The Scarlet Knights were one of 26 teams to participate in this weekend’s event.

September-26-04 Spector, Morad, Bach Help RU Field Hockey Top West Chester, 3-0
WEST CHESTER, PA – Kara Spector (Easton, MD), Corinne Bach (Moorestown, NJ) and Katie Morad (Marlton, NJ) each scored goals as the Rutgers field hockey team (4-7) cruised to a 3-0 victory over West Chester (1-8) on Sunday afternoon. The victory snaped a six-game losing streak and marked the Scarlet Knights’ highest offensive output since a 4-3 double overtime victory against William and Mary on Sept. 5.

HAMDEN, CT – Freshmen Anela Dujsic (Mississauga, Ontario) enjoyed the most successful weekend of her young career, winning the Flight C singles title at the Quinnipiac Invitational for the Rutgers women’s tennis team.

September-26-04 Rutgers Golf Teams Complete Successful Weekend at Elon Invitational
SUNSET BEACH, NC – The men’s golf team highlighted a successful weekend for Rutgers at the Elon Sea Trail Men’s and Women’s Invitational this weekend. The men, paced by tournament champion Mike Kosup’s (Flemington, NJ) six-under-par 138 (69-69), won the team championship at the 6,761-yard, par-72 Rees Jones Course.

VILLANOVA, PA – The Villanova Wildcats received two goals from Megan Foster and registered a 5-1 victory over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon at Villanova Stadium. The loss drops Rutgers’ record to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the BIG EAST, while the Wildcats improve to 5-3 and 1-1 in the BIG EAST.
