BOCA RATON, FL – Despite a victory at fourth singles from senior Helen Magomedova (Brooklyn, NY), the Rutgers women’s tennis team (5-7) finished its spring break trip in Florida with a 6-1 loss to Massachusetts on Wedneday.

March-16-05 No. 5 Miami Shuts Down Rutgers, 13-2
MIAMI, FL – A trio of lefties limited Rutgers to just three hits through seven innings as No. 5 Miami beat the Scarlet Knights, 13-2, tonight at Mark Light Stadium in the only meeting between the two teams this season. RU starter Aaron Kalb (Middletown, NJ) lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing 10 hits and seven runs, to suffer his first loss of the season.

March-15-05 Harrigan, Smith Headed to NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior Sean Smith (Oklahoma City, OK) and junior Kelly Harrigan (Bristol, CT) will represent at the annual NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The women’s event will take place March 17-19 in West Lafayette, IN while the men’s runs March 24-26 in Minneapolis, MN.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers seniors Andy Roy (Wall, NJ) and Chris Ressa (Andover, NJ) will compete at the 75th annual NCAA Wrestling Championships, Thursday-Saturday at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, MO.

March-15-05 Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Upends No. 18 Yale, 10-7
ORLANDO, FL – Sophomore Katie Batiuk (Jackson, NJ) helped the Rutgers women’s lacrosse team kick off its spring break trip to Florida on a high note with four goals to lead the Scarlet Knights to a 10-7 victory over No. 18 Yale at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

TOWSON, MD – Playing its first Top 25 opponent of the 2005 season, the 14th-Rutgers men’s lacrosse team suffered a 7-6 setback against the 13th-ranked Towson Tigers on Tuesday evening at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, MD.

March-15-05 RU Baseball Falls at Florida Atlantic 10-6
BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University picked up its fourth consecutive win with a 10-6 win over Rutgers Tuesday night at FAU Stadium. FAU scored 10 runs on 12 hits as it improves to 13-5 on the year. The Scarlet Knights even their record at 6-6.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers’ Cappie Pondexter (Chicago, IL) has been named to the Kodak/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region 1 Team for the third time during her career (2003-2005).
