April-14-03 Egbert Earns BIG EAST, NJCBA Pitcher of the Week Honors
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Sophomore right-hander Jack Egbert (Rutherford, NJ) pitched a complete game one-hitter with a career-high eight strikeouts to beat Seton Hall, 5-1, on Sunday and for his efforts, he was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week. The award is the first for a Scarlet Knight player this season. Egbert also received the same honor from the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association.

ITHACA, NY – The Rutgers heavyweight crew lost at Cornell in a race to decide the Smith Cup April 13 on Cayuga Lake. Rutgers is ranked 17th and Cornell is fifth in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Men’s Varsity Eights Poll (April 10).

April-13-03 Egbert's One-Hit Gem Gives Rutgers Doubleheader Split with Seton Hall
PISCATAWAY, NJ – After 22-straight games on the road, sophomore Jack Egbert (Rutherford, NJ) opened the 2003 home schedule with a complete-game one-hitter to lead Rutgers to a 5-1 win over Seton Hall this afternoon at the Class of ’53 Complex. The win proved pivotal, as Rutgers fell in the second game, 2-1. With the split, Rutgers is now 11-13 overall and 5-3 in BIG EAST play. Seton Hall moves to 12-14, 5-6.

April-13-03 Rutgers Sweeps Georgetown in Regular-Season Finale
PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women’s tennis team ended its regular season on Sunday afternoon, recording a 7-0 victory, over Georgetown. The Scarlet Knights, playing on the outdoor courts of the Rutgers Tennis Complex for the first time this season, registered their third-straight shutout and seventh-straight overall victory, improving to 13-6 and 9-2 in BIG EAST play. The win also puts Rutgers in solid position to clinch a berth in the BIG EAST Championships, Friday-Sunday April 25-27 in Miami, FL.

HARRISONBURG, VA – The Rutgers women’s golf team finished 14th in the Bonnie Hoover/James Madison Invitational on Sunday, carding a 1,020 (355-336-329) for the two-day tournament.
